Well, as in years past, the weeks are flying by and we're now winding down February which is really hard to believe.
Last Friday Linda and I had our annual tax appointment with our CPA, Calvin Penny. I love Calvin but I dread this appointment. No offense Calvin if you're reading this.
It seems that I'm just always behind in QuickBooks and there is always substantial preparation required before this appointment. We also get the wonderful news of how much money we're going to owe the Federal govt and our lovely State of California. When you have a business, you always owe, always!
Making sure all the year end bookkeeping is fully completed and accurate. 1099's have been mailed out, profit & loss statements and balance sheets compiled. 941's for payroll gathered and the list goes on. The joys of having your own business type of stuff.
Anyway, the good thing about this appointment is that we're close to downtown Fresno and with that, a good reason to stop in at our favorite acai bowl place, Rio Acai Bowls.
This is a real treat for us because we LOVE these things, I mean LOVE them! We always get The Rio which is (Açai Base + Toppings: Granola, Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry, Coconut Shavings, Honey.)
Pro Tip: Around mid last year, Linda somehow learned about adding peanut butter to the top, so now this has been added to our Rio Bowl and this really does levels things up.
I also really like that they always have K-Love playing which makes for a really nice environment to sit down and have a quick all natural, all organic meal.
(I sure did marry up. Still not sure what exactly Linda saw in me but I'll take the win! ⬆️)
On a different note, I ran the Fresno/Clovis January 2023 Real Estate numbers from the Fresno MLS on Friday. They publish them around the middle of each month for the prior month.
💡Did you know that home sales in the Fresno/Clovis areas are actually down -36% YOY?
This begs the question(s), (and one's we've been getting a lot from people this year)
