Talking to Strangers

Lunch, Laughter & Friendship!

Today was a day filled with connection, laughter, and friendship. I had the pleasure of catching up with Lorna, a dear friend whom I met at KW when I first got licensed, back in 2011.  Our friendship quickly blossomed as we found common ground on many levels. And when I left KW to start help start up a local ReMax office, Lorna joined me, making our bond even stronger.

We decided to meet at Heirloom, a trendy restaurant that I frequent. It was Lorna's first time there, so I couldn't resist sharing my favorite menu items and how amazing their drinks are. As we sat at the bar, two tattooed men caught our eye with their delicious-looking drinks. Without hesitation, we asked them what they were having and ordered two "frisky whiskey" drinks. The taste was out of this world!

As we enjoyed our drinks and food, an older couple joined us at the bar. We struck up a conversation and even recommended the "frisky whiskey" to them, which they eagerly tried and loved. We were all strangers, but at that moment, we connected and laughed like old friends. It was a beautiful reminder that we should never be afraid to reach out and connect with others, even if they look different from us.

Lorna and I had a chance to catch up on life, family, and everything in between. It was a warm and joyful moment that reminded me of the special bond we share.  As we left the restaurant, I felt grateful for the experience and the reminder that life is full of wonderful people and moments of joy.
